about
this series of works is focused on the rise and fall of chevrolet based on jorge luis borges’s short story, on exactitude in science.
rise and fall of chevrolet is a visual representation of the company’s automobile products over the 1900s. from the rise as a detroit icon to the peak during the post-war boom, then a steep decline as the oil crisis & japanese competition swept in towards the 1970s. 5 distinctive and important cars were chosen from the company’s portfolio to indicate the important developments in the chevrolet’s long history. this project blends hand-drawn illustrations with digital type setting.
special thanks to don pollack for guidance on this project, and mock-ups from bei lin.
